If you have a Facebook business page, then you will want to make sure you set up your Call-to-Action (CTA) button so that it aligns with your marketing objective(s).
Call-to-action buttons can be things like “Watch Video,” “Sign Up,” or “Book Now” – and each can be customized with a destination URL or piece of content of your choosing.
It’s a great way to drive traffic from your Facebook Business Page to your website.

- Download your app or play your game (Use App, Play Game)
- Join your community (Visit Group)

How to Add a Call-to-Action Button to your Facebook Page
In this example, we will walk thru the instructions to setup a Sign Up Call-to-Action button on your Facebook Business page. This button is a great tool to grow your email list. I would suggest linking the button to a sign up (contact) form on your website.
To add a Call-to-Action button to your page:
- Click Add a Button below your page’s cover photo.
The Add a Button to Your Page dialog box appears, this is step 1 of 2 for the procedure. - Click on each of the categories to view the button options.
An example of the Contact you buttons appears below.
- Click the desired button, the click the Next button.
Step 2: Where would you like this button to send people? appears in the dialog box. The example below shows step 2 for the Sign Up Call-to-Action button.
- Select the desired option from the list. The options differ depending on the button you selected in step 3. In this example, the only option is to click on Website Link.
The example below shows the next step for the Sign Up button.
- Enter or specify the options as required. The options differ depending on the button you selected in step 3. In this example, type the website link in the textbox, then click the Save button.
The Final Review appears.
- If desired, click the Edit button to make adjustments, then click the Finish button.
Your new Call-To-Action button appears under your page cover image.
To test your Call-to-Action button on your page:
- Hover over current Call-to-Action button.
The following menu appears. Your options may look different if you had another Call-to-Action button selected.
- Select the Test Button option from the list.
The destination website, URL, or content appears.
To edit your Call-to-Action button on your page:
- Hover over current Call-to-Action button.
The following menu appears. Your options may look different if you had another Call-to-Action button selected.
- Select the Edit Button option from the list.
The Add a Button to Your Page dialog box appears.
- Click the Edit button for the Your Button option.
The Add a Button to Your Page dialog box appears, this is step 1 of 2 for the procedure. - Click on each of the categories to view the button options.

- Click the desired button, the click the Next button.
Step 2: Where would you like this button to send people? appears in the dialog box. The example below shows step 2 for the Shop Now Call-to-Action button.
- Select the desired option from the list. The options differ depending on the button you selected in step 4. In this example, the only option is to click on Website Link (send customers to your website) or Show on our Page (send customer to the Shop section on your Facebook page).
The example below shows the next step for the Show Now – Website Link button.
- Enter or specify the options as required. The options differ depending on the button you selected in step 4. In this example, type the website link in the text box, then click the Save button.
The Final Review appears.
- If desired, click the Edit button to make adjustments, then click the Finish button.
Your new Call-To-Action button appears under your page cover image.
To delete the Call-to-Action button on your page:
- Hover over current Call-to-Action button.
The following menu appears. Your options may look different if you had another Call-to-Action button selected.
- Select the Delete Button option from the list.
A message appears asking you to confirmation the deletion.
- Click Delete Button.
The Add a Button button appears on your page under your cover image.
